L’Île-des-Sœurs, November 4, 2021 – The Quebec Professional Association of Real Estate Brokers (QPAREB) is proud to celebrate the great success of the 7th Commercial Real Estate Forum held on November 3. This second virtual edition of the event set a record attendance with more than 600 passionate real estate brokers from across Quebec, both from the regions and major cities. This is a 63 per cent increase from the 2020 attendance record.

This event was carried out in partnership with QPAREB’s provincial commercial group with the aim of helping commercial brokers keep their knowledge up to date and expand their network of contacts.

The conference noted that the commercial real estate market is very dynamic and in flux, like all sectors. The strong demand and declining availability of commercial units are putting increasing pressure on rental prices. Moreover, the scarcity of land is leading to increased competition in terms of use, particularly in the Montreal CMA. At the same time, new working habits, such as teleworking, will influence the evolving office space market in the coming months.

“We would like to thank all the speakers who delivered dynamic and in-depth presentations on current topics and challenges affecting the industry. Commercial real estate will have to adjust and innovate. Commercial real estate brokers will have an important role to play with owners, tenants, investors, merchants, manufacturers, developers and contractors in order to contribute to Quebec’s economic recovery,” states Diane Sabourin, president of the commercial group. “The Forum helped to position brokers as agents of change in the commercial real estate sector, a rapidly evolving market.”
